Weeknotes #102 (October 17, 2026)

Things I found, read, did, and produced this past week.
Things I worked on
- I try to follow updates from T3 Code but with their "nightly" release actually being 3-4 times a day, my email was getting cluttered with them as I still tend to stay on the stable releases. Due to such, I used the GitHub API to fetch if there is a new stable release and notify me when they occur: lannonbr/t3code-release-checker.
Things I consumed
- Related to the above, T3 Code 0.1.0 came out this week with a large amount of features I was anticipating including their v2 orchestrator that allows you to control T3 Code via MCP, so if you want one thread to spin up other threads natively and cross harness (ex: Codex triggering Claude Code). As well, this also brings a task scheduler so I can have a prompt triggered at a regular schedule.
- No Mans Sky is coming to the iPhone and iPad at the end of the month. I've played a good amount of this on console as well as PC and impressed they can take the majority of this game and have it run on mobile.
- Apple HomeView is Apple's new smart home controller. It's $299 and feels like a 1st gen product, but since I already have a good amount of smart home products routed through Home Assistant, this is likely a pass for me unless Siri AI really steps up in capability in the next few years.
- Redesigning source control at Anthropic is a post covering how Git was not meeting the needs of their giant monorepo and as such, they wrote a brand new version control system that is is meeting their push of 30k merges per day. Of note, they comment that the whole system (Version Control, Code Review, CI, etc) is rather custom and meets their specific use case, so they didn't think open sourcing it would really serve the general developer, but they described the algorithms and techniques around it at least. In my opinion, I am curious to see where communities and companies at large move to and develop if git or git forges are not meeting their needs anymore.
