Weeknotes #101 (October 10, 2026)

Things I found, read, did, and produced this past week.
Things I consumed
- Alexa Tablets is the successor to the Fire Tablet lineup from Amazon, but without the chains of the fire devices. These are just Android tablets with the Google Play Store. That said, Android tablets have not really gotten a hold of the market like the iPad has. Even Google themselves don't have a flagship tablet anymore and are pushing instead towards Googlebooks, a combination of Android and ChromeOS, and from early reviews, it has a lot of rough edges still.
- ArtCraft is a series of projects of "cleanroom" reimplementations of a lot of various professional software from the Adobe Suite, Microsoft Office, among others. It blew up on social media and we shall see if they stay into the coming weeks or if we see some copyright claims.
