Weeknotes #49 (October 11, 2025)

Things I found, read, did, and produced this past week.
Things I consumed
- Apps in ChatGPT. The whole embed your app into another which really only works if the larger dev ecosystem decides it is good for them to do. I've seen this fail many times, especially in the digital assistant ecosystem (See Google Home apps & Alexa skills), this could be useful but only as good as the ramp on and continued support it gets from both OpenAI and 3rd party developers.
- On the flip side, Sora 2 and the Sora app from OpenAI has been out for a bit now and yet a large sum of people are criticizing it for the blatant copyright infringement as well as reality that as a society we should probably not make it easier to make deepfakes of people whether it is your friends or public figures. As such various people including Linus Sebastian of LinusTechTips as well as Hank Green among others have put out videos on such.
- I got through my first run of Hades 2 this past week and appeciate that the content continues to evolve similar to how new content immediately unlocks in the first game. I especially appreciate this game's concept of upping the ante with the Fear system by custom toggles in which you can increase the difficulty in various ways.
