Weeknotes #54 (November 15, 2025)

Things I found, read, did, and produced this past week.
Things I consumed
- Valve announced 3 products this week, a controller, the Steam Controller, a desktop, the Steam Machine, and a VR headset, the Steam Frame. All three seem to be interesting for their three markets, but we will have to see how they actually perform in early 2026 due to none of them having pricing yet.
- Played more Archipelago with friends this week, a experience where multiple people play a bunch of games and unlocks or items in one person's game may unlock an item in someone else's game. Definitely can be hectic depending on the balance of the games but it definitely is worth the time doing it.
- The Kubernetes team announced the retirement of the NGINX Ingress controller happening this upcoming March 2026. They're commenting there is a low support of maintaining it and they want people to migrate to the Gateway API. This impacts me personally both on my personal homelab and at work, but there is enough of a time to figure out what is a good path forward to move to.
