Weeknotes #62 (January 10, 2026)

Things I found, read, did, and produced this past week.
Things I worked on
- Added Tailscale Ingress to my local cluster to replace the nginx ingress given it is being retired in a few months. Given I didn't use any specific nginx annotations I mainly only had to switch the ingressClassName field and a few lines in the TLS section as now Tailscale is handling the TLS rather than me generating a TLS cert beforehand and passing it up with the helm deployment.
Things I consumed
- Something interesting I saw out of this week's CES news was the Switchbot Weather Station: an E-ink display specifically for just weather info. If the price is reasonable I feel this is a nice device that can highlight weather at a glance from a very power efficent device. Also at CES, the XPS line from Dell has returned after being discontinued a year ago.
- As I've been thinking about sandboxing with LLMs, I found this piece by Luis Cardoso on AI Sandboxing where it goes a lot further beyond just docker containers and goes into other opportunities like microVMs, WebAssembly, user-space kernels systems like gVisor. Also on this note, Fly.io released a new product, Sprites, that is also trying to solve this issue specifically for agentic AI use cases.
