Weeknotes #69 (February 28, 2026)

Things I found, read, did, and produced this past week.
Things I worked on
- As part of my TCG tracking app, I wanted to have a way to cache the data from TCGCSV for a period of time and then clear it and refetch the files later on. Luckily, Convex has a component specifically to do this: Convex Action Cache. I only have a few more features to complete before I'll be open sourcing the repo.
Things I consumed
- A new brain teaser was passed to the various AI models of the Car Wash Test. It goes "I want to wash my car. The car wash is 50 meters away. Should I walk or drive?" and a human can easily understand the trick question, but many LLMs fail to catch it.
- As part of the 30th anniversary of Pokemon, they announced the first two games of the 10th generation: Pokemon Winds and Waves coming in 2027.
- I finished reading There is No Antimemetics Division this week. Originally stories part of the SCP Foundation that was collected into a full novel this past November. It is a fun sci-fi / horror about a secret organization that focuses on tracking down and containing entities that erase themselves from people's memories and therefore are challenging to remember.
