Weeknotes #16 (February 22, 2025)

Things I found, read, did, and produced this past week.
Things I consumed
- Hades 2, Supergiant Games sequel to the award winninng roguelite has a new update: The Warsong Update. What excites me is it seems the are getting closer to finishing main systems as well as the story and enemies in the game, so it is likely that it will be coming out of early access sometime this year.
- In the world of Pokemon TCG, a single card has spiked in popularity and market price: Drowzee from S&V Base. On TCGPlayer Infinite they wrote up an article on such: Drowzee Wakes Up, Everybody Panics.
- Obsidian is free for work, or rather the requirement of paying for using Obsidian for commercial purposes has been disabled again. I personally pay for a subscription as I want to support the team building it, but it is definitely a good step forward for the project.
- I've been playing Marvel Rivals lately with friends, they just released a new update this past Friday adding The Thing and Human Torch into the game. At the same time though, it is having some realignment and changed investment in the game, at the cost of layoffs of their US teams, and this isn't just a Marvel Rivals issue, but a further problem arising from the top of developer NetEase per a Bloomberg Report that hundreds of employees being let go, and multiple games being paused or cancelled.
